Meet our Student Support Team who will support you throughout your studies at the Biomedical Teaching Organisation (BMTO).

Jenny Blair - Student Support Manager

Hello! My name is Jenny, and I have been in the BMTO for 4 years now, having previously worked in the Medical School and NHS.I love cooking (although I make a bit of a mess!) and getting out for fresh air. I appreciate University can be a daunting and equally exciting time so please know we are here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Keri Foubister - Student support Administrator

I’m Keri, I am from Orkney. Prior to joining the BMTO Student Support Team, I was a Welfare rights adviser. I have an undergraduate BSC in Psychology, I have now lived in Edinburgh for 8 years. 

I am a serial hobbyist, and I enjoy anything Sci-fi or fantasy-related. I am most likely found with my two cats Han and Chewie. 

Clare Anderson - Student Adviser

I’m Clare and prior to moving to BMTO, I was working in the Diploma Office in the Law School. I have a degree in International Business in Languages and speak French, German and Spanish. I have also worked in the export industry selling Scottish farmed salmon. I’m a keen cook and I enjoy swimming.

Anne Bellchambers - Student Adviser

I’m Anne, and I have been a student twice in my life (so far); once before the internet and mobile phones were a thing, and more recently, completing a Masters with the Open University while juggling a job as a lawyer.

Outwith work my interests include archery, metal –detecting , travelling and owning way too many books.

Jayne Davies - Student Adviser

I'm from Ayrshire and have previously studied at the Universities of Bristol and Edinburgh. Before joining the BMTO Student Support Team, I worked in the Enquiry Management department at the University of Edinburgh.In my spare time I enjoy baking, drawing and swimming and I’m currently learning German. I’m also a keen reader and DIY-er and I like a good pub quiz (but unfortunately I’m not very good).I look forward to meeting you and supporting you throughout your studies.

Dani Di Biase - Student Adviser

My name is Dani and I am one of the Student Advisors in BMTO. I studied psychology at Uni and went onto work for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and then the NHS, supporting people and running therapeutic activities. And now I am here!The main thing I do in my free time is play roller derby (a sport most people have never heard of). My other hobbies include painting, snorkelling, Dungeons and Dragons, board games. and I love to travel.I remember how overwhelming Uni can be so I am always here to help or chat.

Amy Goodwin - Student Adviser

Hello! I’m Amy and I am thrilled to be on the Student Support Team. I am so looking forward to being alongside you, offering any support I can throughout your time at the University of Edinburgh.I have a BSc degree in Psychology and then more recently, went on to complete a PG Certificate in Counselling Studies. I have spent much of my career working within the Health and Social Care sector but most recently, as an independent advocate for care experienced children and young people. I am passionate about promoting voice and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be and feel heard.In my spare time I like to hang out with my dog, go to gigs and travel.

Victoria Jackson - Student Adviser

I joined the team in April 2023 and have a degree in Archaeology which I studied at the University of Liverpool. Before I started working as a Student Advisor, I worked in health and social care for many years and most recently in Independent Advocacy. I have a passion for helping others overcome barriers and achieve their goals. I’m always happy to help and to chat.When I’m not at work I can be found walking my Boston Terriers or at dance classes.

Eilidh McPherson - Student Adviser

My name is Eilidh. I studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, before doing a PGDE teaching qualification. Following this, I worked as a secondary school teacher in schools in and around Edinburgh, and really enjoyed being a mentor to senior pupils. I love to paint, cycle and read in my spare time.

David Scanlon - Student Adviser

My name is David. I’m Irish, and I first moved here to Edinburgh back in 2019 to study Counselling. I’ve been working as a Student Support Officer since October 2021, and in that time I’ve really enjoyed working with all the students here to help them out.In my free time I like to do volunteer work, write, and play Dungeons and Dragons.I’m happy to help with pointing you towards the different support services in the University, going through how to apply for Special Circumstances, Interruptions, and other processes, or even just having a chat about how you’re doing and any difficulties you might be facing.

Amanda Manning - Student Adviser

Hello! I’m Amanda and I am from Glasgow. I studied Languages (Spanish & French) at University and lived and worked in Spain and Dublin teaching English for a few years after I graduated. I then started my career here at the University in February 2020 as part of the Admissions Team at the Medical School prior to joining this team.I love dogs (particularly my own little Lakeland Terrier), and love to travel and meet people from all over the world. I also love music, dancing and food.I am looking forward to meeting and supporting you throughout your studies here!

Linda Collins - Student Adviser

Hello, I’m Linda. Before joining the BMTO Student Support Team, I worked as a Student Support Specialist Autism Mentor and Mental Health Mentor.

I have a BSc in Psychology and I’m always looking to develop my skills in supporting people. I’m looking forward to supporting you in any way I can throughout your studies at the University of Edinburgh.

When I’m not working with students, I like to spend my time making things, poking about charity shops, and spending time outdoors.
