Dr Sarah Wright course organiser for third year Junior Honours course 'Health, Illness and Society'. My role at the BMTO In addition to running 'Health, Illness and Society', I contribute to both Medical Sciences 1 and also the elective Honours course 'Medical Anthropology'. I supervise qualitative Honours projects and my teaching work at the BMTO spans course design, delivery, assessment and feedback. I am a member of the Social Research Ethics Group (SREG) at the BMTO. About me I am a social scientist with a keen interest in the social and structural determinants of health, and lived experience of illness. In addition to running 'Health, Illness and Society', I have contributed teaching on the MBChB for a number of years, as well as co-convening the elective course 'Qualitative Research in Health' as part of the Masters in Public Health here at the University. In all of my work I advocate for in-depth, person-focused perspectives of health, illness and disease which situates the experiential within the structural determinants of people’s lives.
