My role at the BMTO

I am course organiser for the fourth year elective course Medical Anthropology. I act as Honours dissertation supervisor and marker for qualitative projects and I am a member of the Social Research Ethics Group (SREG) at the BMTO.

About Me

I am a social anthropologist with a background in medicine. I have conducted research on doctoral and post-doctoral level in both disciplines in Brazil and Scotland. My research interests are dynamics of care and self-care, social movements, and teaching anthropology to (future) health professionals.

I am a member of the Edinburgh Centre for Medical Anthropology (EdCMA).
