Project: Generational Healing Through Storytelling: Addressing Black American Trauma

My proposed documentary film blends personal narrative, observational filmmaking, and biomedical research, including epigenetics and neuroscience, to explore how historical trauma is passed down through generations in Black American families. Drawing on my experience as a physician, researcher, and storyteller, my documentary aims to make complex mental health science accessible, while fostering healing through storytelling.

I'm excited for this project because it is deeply personal and I believe that this will help to heal some of the trauma and harm which has been perpetuated within my own family.
