Where is the best area to look for accommodation?

Our tips on where to live and how to get around

Best areas to live

Our students find central and south Edinburgh the best locations to look for accommodation and the most convenient for travelling to and from their studies.

Edinburgh Medical School is spread over 3 campuses: the Central area (in and around George Square), Little France and the Western General, and any Core teaching activities are normally held in the Central area and on the Little France campus.

The location of your lab will very much depend on the projects you choose and could be any of the three locations, most likely to be either Little France or the Central area, although occasionally students work in labs located at Kings Buildings or Easter Bush.

Planning your commute

We like to think Edinburgh is an easy city to get around! There are very good public transports links between our campuses and also good bike routes.
