We asked our students what they liked best about studying in Edinburgh. Our programmes are spread out across the city, from our research centres to our hospitals and laboratories. When we step out from the laboratory, the wider city encourages us to walk, cycle and explore – taking in the heart-stopping skyline, ancient volcanoes and the nearby seaside. Our students bond in a community which helps them navigate the body of the city and their own studies, communities they take with them across the world. 1. Roamin in the Gloamin...a walk in nearby Holyrood Park is top of the list. Junji Hua (MSc by research Biomedical Sciences, Zhejiang) told us, "The best thing to do in Edinburgh is enjoing the view from the mountain top of Arthurs seat." Jess Williams, MSc by Research Biomedical Sciences (Life Sciences) says, "Watching the sun set over Edinburgh from the top of the crags is especially magical in winter!" 2. On yer bike Edinburgh is a very walkable and bikeable city. Take advantage of the bike routes in, around and out of Edinburgh. Explore accessible paths with the Edinburgh Innertube Map 3. Explore Scotland "It can seem hard when you have a lot of work to do but Scotland is an amazing country. Get together with your classmates and go see Loch Lomand, go up North... there is so much to see and explore."
