Image "Ew, brains" by Keris Heading, part of the Anatomy@Edinburgh Contemporary Art Collection As part of the Art and Graphics plenary session on Saturday 5th October Victoria presented "The Creation of a Contemporary Art Collection within an Anatomy Department" to highlight the importance of the display of artwork, both historic and new, and the creation of a brand new art collection. The aim of the new collection is to mark the artistic abilities of our present students and visiting artists, and to create a record of how individuals perceive Human Anatomy and Medicine through art. Anatomy@Edinburgh has a large historic collection of artworks, a visual record from the early 20thcentury, and so this new collection marks the changing styles in art in the 21stcentury and gives students and artists alike the chance to become part of the history of Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh.Related linksTo find out more about the Anatomy@Edinburgh Contemporary Art Collection or if you would like your artwork to become part of the collection please contact anatomy.edinburgh@ed.ac.uk Publication date 16 Oct, 2019
