Chris was initially awarded his BSc (Hons) in Physiology from St Andrews in 2008 before completing his MBBS at Newcastle University in 2012.

Following initial medical training in Newcastle, Melbourne and Edinburgh, he completed his training as an ENT Surgeon in the East of Scotland and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd). He is currently working as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Alder Hey Childrens Hospital in Liverpool.

Chris worked as an Anatomy Teaching fellow in the department up until August 2018 and has held an Honorary position since. He continues to organise and deliver teaching sessions within the department and acts as an Anatomy MSc dissertation project supervisor.

Chris has a deep interest in teaching and holds PGCAP in Education with the university. He is also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Teaching

Chris delivers sessions across a wide range of anatomical subjects to medical, biomedical science and anatomy students. In addition to this he has a focus on clinically-orientated anatomy teaching to draw from his experiences and contextualise learning for students. 

Of note, he was involved in the organisation and delivery of the Core Surgical Training Anatomy teaching programme within the department, along with several other similar programmes.
