Four undergraduate students from the Biomedical Sciences programme have had their work published in the Journal of Insect Physiology. In their paper, Yilan Shen, Sunna Haidar, Mihail Nikolaev & Denis Beqja describe the use of a transgenic tarantula toxin as a new tool to study ion channels in fruit flies. The work was carried out as part of a summer internship in the Denholm lab and was funded by a BMTO Summer Research Scholarship and a WR Henderson Scholarship.
