Intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences with Honours

The Bachelor of Medical Sciences with Honours degree programmes may be intercalated as part of the MBChB programme. The intercalated BMedSci is taken at the end of second year.

Programme paused

This programme has been paused to applicants and we will not be recruiting for entry in September 2026. As an alternative, we would like to recommend our multidisciplinary Biomedical Sciences programmes.  

Biomedical Sciences programmes at Edinburgh are in the areas of Anatomy & Development, Biomedical Sciences, Infectious Disease, Neuroscience, Pharmacology and Reproductive Biology. These programmes cover a broad range of topics across human health and disease, and many of the courses delivered within the Medical Sciences curriculum are integrated into this Biomedical portfolio.

Admission to is competitive and based on academic merit. Applications from external candidates are considered.

The Deanery of Biomedical Sciences is responsible for the degrees in Anatomy and Development (BSc), Biomedical Sciences (BSc), Infectious Diseases (BSc), Neuroscience (BSc), Pharmacology (BSc) and Reproductive Biology (BSc).
