Professor Gordon Findlater Appointed as Wade Professor of Anatomy

Congratulations to Professor Gordon Findlater who has been appointed as the Wade Professor of Anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons after Professor David Sinclair retired from the post.

His main research interest is in the development of innovative teaching methods and has been involved with using virtual reality and developing a holographic atlas of anatomy. He became Professor of Translational Anatomy in 2013 and in the same year was made an Honorary Fellow of the College for his services.

I am very much looking forward to continuing the excellent job that David did in developing the Wade programme of anatomy courses. These courses are very much based around the principle that a sound knowledge of three-dimensional anatomy is essential for its application in clinical practice. They also serve as excellent preparation for the MRCS examination.
