Anatomy Nights Heart Dissection

Anatomist and expert in heart anatomy and cardiovascular science, Sameer Dhumale, took attendees on a guided tour of this remarkable organ.

The tour began with historical perspectives of the heart and how these perspectives influenced language, to a live dissection of an animal heart. Attendees then had the opportunity to get hands-on and have a go at dissecting a heart as well as other activites involving microscopy of mouse heart tissue and ultrasound imaging of their own heart!

This event was run nationwide at many various locations and took place at 6pm on Wednesday the 14th February 2018. It was supported by the Anatomical Society and was well attended with all proceeds going towards the British Heart Foundation.
