Anatomy@Edinburgh staff and students showcased a range of their research at the Anatomical Society Winter Meeting, hosted by the University of Central Lancashire, 6th – 8th January 2025. A range of talks and posters on the current research of both staff and students was presented at last week’s Anatomical Society Winter meeting, alongside showcasing some artwork!A list of all the research presented can be found below.TalksYasmin Day presented her MSc dissertation project in a Pecha Kucha talk entitled “A Histomorphometric and Histopathological Analysis of the Human Acetabular Labrum Enthesis”. Dr Stephen Maclean presented his work from the ATLAS Facility on the use of structured light scanning in Forensic Anthropology; “An Exploration of Structured Light Scanning in the Anatomical Sciences: Accuracy, Repeatability, and Lessons Learned Along the Way” Dr Jennifer Paxton followed Stephen’s talk focusing on the use of 3D scanning and arts-based learning from the ATLAS Facility entitled “Combining 3D Scanning and 3D Printing for Arts-Based Learning of Skeletal Anatomy”. Jennifer presented public engagement work from the ATLAS Facility; “The Art of the Brain: Creating an Online Exhibition of Public Anatomical Artwork”.
