Dr Jennifer Paxton and AD4 honours student, Iona Eldhose, are the recipients of the Anatomical Society’s Best Image Runner up award. Iona’s honours project focused on the design, production and evaluation of 3D printed osteological bone replicas for enhancing anatomy learning. Her colourful bone models were arranged, photographed and digitally duplicated by Dr Paxton to create the image ‘Osteoflora’.Iona completed her honours project in The ATLAS Facility and was awarded the Best project prize in AD4 for her dissertation. Congratulations! Scapulae were fabricated in white and clear resin from high-resolution scans to produce anatomically accurate models. These models were then hand-painted to highlight key skeletal landmarks and muscle origins and insertions to enhance their educational value. Two identical images of the models were overlayed to create the final floral patterns. Publication date 27 Aug, 2025
