Anatomy workshops for the public Public Anatomy Workshops 2023 An opportunity for members of the public to learn more about Human Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh. Do you want to know more about the human body? The Anatomy Team at the University of Edinburgh invite you to spend a day in the historic Old Medical School to explore the inner workings of the human body, with the return of the popular Public Anatomy Workshops. Walk in the footsteps of generations of medical and anatomical students as you experience a combination of lectures and hands-on practical teaching, guided through each step by our team of expert anatomists. Our 6 core workshops will focus on a specific region of the human body, and no prior knowledge or experience is required to participate. New for 2023, we are introducing three additional themed workshops, exploring applied anatomical concepts including tissue engineering, sports-oriented anatomy and forensic anthropology. Lunch and refreshments will be served in the Anatomical Museum, where you will be able to enjoy historic surroundings and discover our anatomical collection. Access to the museum is currently closed, so this allows a rare opportunity to spend some time looking at the history of medical teaching at the University of Edinburgh. This unique experience is limited to 26 places per workshop. You may attend an individual workshop as a stand-alone educational experience, or combine all 9 workshops to create an unrivalled course in Human Anatomy.
