The level and depth of knowledge required for nursing sciences has been debated for over thirty years. PhD student Siobhan Connolly, University of Edinburgh, funded by the Anatomical Society, sought to answer this question. We have collaborated with nursing departments throughout the United Kingdom to establish the first core anatomy syllabus for undergraduate nurses. The syllabus aims to act as an advisory guide on the level and depth of anatomical knowledge required for safe clinical practice at the point of graduation throughout the United Kingdom. The paper has been published in the Journal of Anatomy and is open access. If there are any issues viewing this paper, please contact Siobhan Connolly at s.connolly@ed.ac.uk.
