Anatomy@Edinburgh attends a Celebration of Global Surgery

On Tuesday 1st May Anatomy@Edinburgh attended the Celebration of Global Surgery, held at Chancellor's Building, the University of Edinburgh.

Anatomy@Edinburgh showcased the innovative teaching resources employed in Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh to aid students’ learning. Staff met with Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and discussed the different ways in which learning resources could be used to help a student’s understanding of the human body.

As part of the Celebration of Global Surgery, Malcolm MacCallum and Ruth Pollitt from the Anatomical Museum displayed items from the historic collection representing Edinburgh’s history and global influence in surgery. Items included a document written by Alexander Monro Primus dated from 1720s, and medals and awards from the collection of Joseph Lister.
