What did you get out of the course?

I feel like I had gained a great deal during my MSc. I was exposed to two fields that greatly interested me, Reproductive Biology and Genetics.

I had previously done a chemistry degree and I wanted to head in new direction in science and gaining more knowledge of the two themes mentioned gave me an indication of which direction to pursue.

Secondly, I acquired valuable research skills including laboratory techniques and improved academic writing and communication.

What are you doing now?

I'll be starting a PhD with one of my MSc supervisors, Cheryl Ashworth. I had really enjoyed working on the project so we applied for funding for a studentship and got it.

Where are you hoping to go next?

Ideally I'd like to pursue a career in publishing perhaps as a medical writer. However, as I am also fond of working in the lab and would also consider continuing an academic path or perhaps go into industry.
