Undertaking real scientific research within the MSc programme has inspired Hao to pursue a PhD in proteomics/mass spectrometry. What did you get out of the course? Image The MSc programme has let me appreciate the real scientific research: I was able to undertake research projects in with PhD students, technicians, and post-docs in prestigious laboratories. In the Cell Communication theme, I have employed fluorescent microscopy and biochemical analysis (e.g. Western blot) to study neurological diseases; in the Genes & Disease theme, I have seen the frontier of stem cell research. What are you doing now? After obtaining the Master's degree, I have decided to undertake a PhD project on proteomics/mass spectrometry back in China. Where are you hoping to go next? I will continue pursuing my research career in proteomics. In particular, I am willing to apply mass spectrometry to delineate common diseases. This article was published on 2024-08-05
