Congratulations to Professor Giles Hardingham, City of Edinburgh Professor of Pharmacology and the Associate Director of the UK Dementia Research Institute Edinburgh Centre, who has been elected to join the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Image Distinguished Research The new Fellows were elected for their outstanding contributions to biomedical and health science, leading research discoveries, and translating developments into benefits for patients and the wider society. The UK Dementia Research Institute Professor Hardingham leads the Edinburgh team examining the complex interactions between cells of the brain, immune system and blood vessels that make up the ‘neurogliovascular unit’.
