Anatomy@Edinburgh recently collaborated with NHS Scotland to deliver a half-day anatomy course for O&G trainees in the South East Deanery. The course was specifically designed to enable trainees to review the regional anatomy knowledge required for the membership examination of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The MRCOG exam is internationally recognised as the gold standard qualification in O&G and is intended for those who wish to specialise globally. The training day comprised a principles-based overview talk, followed by three hands on practical demonstrations on bespoke cadaveric material, to facilitate targeted reviews of the abdominal wall, pelvis and perineum.More information about our other specialty anatomy courses and their educational approach can be found in the following links:Anatomy for Core Surgical Training (CST): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1743919121003071Anatomy for Higher Surgical Training (HST): https://biomedical-sciences.ed.ac.uk/anatomyedinburgh/nhs-scotland-higher-surgical-training-hpb-teaching-dayThe Wade Programme in Surgical Anatomy (RCSEd): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0011384024002028 Olivia Murray, Anatomy Lecturer, Co-Convenor (front row, 6th from left) Angharad Campbell, Specialty Trainee, Co-Convenor (back row, 4th from left) This article was published on Friday 9 October 2026
