New model of tendon microtissue development published by the Paxton Lab

This new study, led by Dr Vinothini Prabhakaran, focuses on the development of a new model of tendon development based around scaffold free, cellular fusion.

When cultured in our bespoke culture system, tendon cells organise into small tissue-like structures that share features of early tendon development.

Future work will investigate the effect of stimulation to these tendon constructs to improve their size and function and bring the possibility of tendon repair and regeneration closer to the clinic.

This manuscript is published in Biofabrication and is the third paper from Vinothini’s PhD thesis – congrats Vino!
